| In 1946 Group Captain Leonard Cheshire, three times decorated for valour, had the idea of setting up a community where the strong would help the weak. Simplistic? Maybe. But today there are 270 Cheshire Homes in 46 countries, from Thailand to Jamaica. They cater for the handicapped and the seriously ill, offering them opportunities, a roof over their heads, a little peace, and dignity. If you have an idea as simple as that of Group Captain Cheshire, please waste no time in putting it into practice. |
