When she was thirty Marion Dönhoff fought against Nazism. Now at eighty-two she heads a great German paper, Die Zeit. Whether resisting Goebbels's lies, or devoting her life to modern communications, the aim is the same, she is true to herself: she has the same straightforward, clear, determined look.
