She works with Edmond Kaiser for Sentinelles. She works against the practice of female circumcision, that sordid and secret mutilation of the very flesh of desire and womanhood in the dubious and unacceptable name of tradition. Hoda Dubray does not accept the unacceptable. She declines to remain inactive, a protected Western woman in full bloom, while elsewhere ancestral scalpels perform their aberrant and irreversible task.
