In the South of France there is a large tract of marshland which is practically unpopulated. This is the Camargue, and there are those who said it was useless. Until men like Luc Hoffman discovered the extraordinary ecological resources of these wetlands and decided to defend them and give their time and energy to them. In 1961 he was among the founders of WWF, the largest international agency for nature conservation and the protection of endangered species. And his life will be given over to improving relations between mankind and an environment which suffers mankind's actions. This is a man whose life is thinking about life itself.
