Anger is a storm of the mind. Founder of Terre des Hommes and of Sentinelles, two pillars of genuine mutual assistance, two vessels in the vanguard of courage and selflessness, Edmond Kaiser is a man of magnificent rages. Incessantly, without every letting up, he writes to those who hold the reins of power in this world. Personally. To rap them over the knuckles and tweak their noses. To tell them what's what. Very forcefully and very skilfully. For he is a master stylist. "If we took the lid off this cauldron of a world, the uproar we should hear would make heave and earth shrink back. For neither heaven nor earth, nor any one among us has really measured the extent of humankind's afflictions. The miseries of our times, the everlasting cries of those tormented in times gone by, whose pain still shrieks on their behalf." And he quotes Saint Exupéry: "Anyone who modestly watches over a few sheep under the stars, if he becomes aware of the part he is playing, finds that he is more than a servant: he is a sentinel. And each single sentinel is responsible for the whole empire." There could be no better way of saying what has to be heard.
