| The brain functions like the cosmos. The cosmos functions like a brain. The two great spheres - the one within and the one without - are sisters, twins. By expressing dizzying, strangely intoxicating formulae, Ilya Prigogine incurred the displeasure of many of his colleagues and won the Nobel Prize for Chemistry. If he is right, then there must be a cosmos in this brain, where ideas spin round that invite us, force us, help us to rethink everything, Starting with ourselves. Nothing is more salutary than to rediscover yourself. |
